Sciatica: True sciatica is leg pain that shoots from back, down the leg past the knee. This mimics the path of the sciatic nerve, thus it's name. Mri of the spine would be diagnostic. I would surmise given the hip and calf pain, that this is more likely pinched nerve than a problem with both hip and knee (less common). If persistent, get into a spine/pain doc for an evaluation. No need to hurt so badly.
