Keloid: A raised scar is called a keloid. Treatment includes otc kelocote or Mederma however the best therapy is intralesional cortisone injections by your dermatologist.

Steroids better: Steroid injections, silicone sheeting, pressure and massage re more likely to flatten the scar whereas chemical peels are more likely to lighten or even darken the scar.
