Easier said: Hiv infects deeply into our bodies. Lymph node stores in out gut is thought to be the main reservoir. Other stores are central nervous system for example. One of the limitations of the meds is we can't get it to potent enough levels in the reservoirs. I'm oversimplifying because there a dozen more biochemical reasons as well but this example suites the argument.
