No, but...: The girls living up high are often different (different genetics, activities, foods, etc...) from the girls living down at sea level, so menarche may happen at different times and yet not be related to a girl's distance above sea level.

Period onset: Girls who live in a colder climate tend to begin their periods earlier than girls who live in a warm climate.this phenomenon may be due to lower Vitamin D levels in cold weather girls
