Try lysine: Lysine seems to suppress the herpes virus. Try taking a capsule daily. Avoid nuts, peanut butter and whole wheat bread and stress. After a while, you may not need to take the lysine anymore.

Patience: Typically they will go away in 10 - 14 days. Warm salt water rinses sometimes help. If it is a herpes ulceration, you can get a rxn. For acyclovir. This helps when taken as soon as it starts. If it is aphthous ulceration, no medication for it. Hang in there.

Canker sores: Canker sores are not pleasant and can be painful and uncomfortable. Canker sore is the most common oral lesions. Individual ulcers typically last 1-2 weeks. The condition is idiopathic (the cause is not known) and recurrent aphthous ulcers are usually self-limiting. Your dentist may prescribe an antimicrobial mouth rinse corticosteroid ointment to control the pain and irritation.
