May have to wait: It should heal by itself within two weeks. If it has been there longer see an oral surgeon, and ENT physician, or oral medicine specialist for an evaluation.

However, your dentist can prescribe you a mouth rinse that can help to numb the sore for short periods of time. That way, for instance, you could rinse before eating to lessen the discomfort while eating.
