May have to wait: It should heal by itself within two weeks. If it has been there longer see an oral surgeon, and ENT physician, or oral medicine specialist for an evaluation.

Unfortunately, time: Unfortunately, sores on the tongue are not easily remedied. Time is the best healer. However, your dentist can prescribe you a mouth rinse that can help to numb the sore for short periods of time. That way, for instance, you could rinse before eating to lessen the discomfort while eating.
