Cyst facts: A cyst is a collection of material contained within a covering of specialized cells. They can be in the skin or below it in one of the many layers of tissue. Once formed, they may be resorbed or persist. They may also become inflammed and/or infected depending on many factors. If it bothers you, then removal may be the answer. Unfortunately, there is no way to know how long any of these may take.

Oral ?: The oral lymphoepithelial cyst develops within a benign lymphoid aggregate or accessory tonsil of the oral or pharyngeal mucosa. The surface of such aggregates may be indented with tonsillar crypts, as are the much larger pharyngeal tonsils of the lateral pharyngeal walls. The crypts may become obstructed by keratin or other debris, or surface opening may become constricted . See ENT doctor.

Painful or bleeding?: Is it painful or bleeding? Does it seem infected, draining pus? Does it interfere with urination or sexual intercourse? Is it rapidly growing which might be a sign that it might not be a cyst but a tumor or cancer.
