Cyst facts: A cyst is a collection of material contained within a covering of specialized cells. They can be in the skin or below it in one of the many layers of tissue. Once formed, they may be resorbed or persist. They may also become inflammed and/or infected depending on many factors.If it bothers you, then removal may be the answer. Unfortunately, there is no way to know how long any of these may take.
