A member asked:

Would it be possible that a bacterial infection in the gall bladder cause multiple organ failure?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Overwhelming: Septicemia in any organ cause multiple organ failure. It is rare for acute cholecystitis alone to cause multiple organ failure, unless there are co-morbid conditions such as malignancy, diabetes, hiv, liver disease or kidney failure, but these are general statements, so ask your doctor for specific advice.
