Bell's Palsy: Bell's palsy is a paralysis of the facial nerve. Exact causes are rarely known, but it is thought to be a response to viral infections in some case. The symptoms are facial drooping on one side like a stroke, but unlike a stroke, there are no other symptoms and the forehead will droop also(it doesn't in strokes). It usually resolves on it's own over weeks to months. Rarely permanent.

Facial paralysis: Bell's palsy is weakness or paralysis of the facial muscles. It is thought to be caused by a virus but it is important to rule out other causes such a tumor growth. Most people will regain normal facial movement with time but a few may have permanent weakness or spasms.
