A member asked:

What would the life expectancy for advanced metastatic prostrate cancer be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Quite variable: Most Prostate Cancer-affected patients live for several years, the average being 3-5 years. But it depends on response to hormonal treatments which can extend life for 2 to 3 years. Chemotherapy can add another 1 or 2 years. Once all the above treatments have been used up, then the survival is shortened to 1 to 2 years. Tell us more about the dates of your diagnosis and treatments used up so far?.
