Athletes foot: The fungus that causes athletes foot is always going to be there. It is ubiquitous. It is contagious to other parts of your skin on the body and to others during treatment. It is in the flooring, shower, carpet, shoe gear etc. The best bet is to clear it from your skin and hope that your immune system helps to stave it off. If you notice it returning, treat it immediately.

Immediately: Athletes feet is another term for fungal infection of the skin. Although there are many different types of fungus, they spread and multiply by little flakes or vesicles on the skin. By the time you notice the scaling skin, it's already dividing enough to spread itself by flaky skin. If you have scaling, flakes of skin coming off your feet, it's trying to spread itself so it's contagious.
