A member asked:

How big should an oral cancer get in order for it to be rendered incurable?

Oral cancer: It depends. We evaluate these tumors based on the size, presence of involved lymph nodes and whether or not there has been tumor spread beyond the mouth and neck. The more advanced the tumor the less likely it is to be cured. The size alone is only one factor. See an otolaryngologist who treats cancers of the head and neck. Best wishes to you or the one for whom you are inquiring.

Depends: Depends on a number of factors. For example, if a very small oral cancer has spread to the lung or liver - likely incurable. A very large oral cancer, with no spread to the regional lymph nodes or liver/lungs, may be curable. For best results see an ENT-Head and Neck Surgeon for best results.
