Fatty Liver: Fatty liver represents an increase in fat deposits in the hepatocytes (liver cells) and causes the transaminase enzymes (ast and alt, or SGOT and sgpt) to increase. It is often caused by alcohol, obesity, or diabetes and the elevated enzyme levels can come down to normal if those causative factors are improved.
