A member asked:

Is a blood sample still good for testing 12 days after it was drawn?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends...: It depends on what test. For many tests like potassium and blood cell counts the answer is no. Labs usually keep blood samples for 1-2 weeks. Certain elements of the blood will break down by 12 days and redrawing the blood sample is the only option.
