Yes: Picking at your skin can cause acne scarring and should be avoided. Wash with a good soap designed specfically for the face. Use a good face moisturizer. Over the counter products like benzoyl peroxide are a good start to treat acne. If your acne is more severe or if there are nodules present you should consider seeing a dermatologist.

Scars not acne: You may get scars but not acne from popping whiteheads.

Maybe, probably not: Unlikely if it is a true whitehead or blackhead. Sometimes a hair follicle, pore, sweat gland, or small piece of fat can mimic a whitehead. If you squeeze that out, it could leave a scar.

Acne in pregnancy: There are some tips that may help you in your pregnancy acne. Try to wash gently with a mild cleanser twice a day. Make sure to use an oil free moisturizer. Try not to squeeze or rub your pimples to avoid scarring. Use non comedogenic make up that will not clog your pores. Try to figure out what triggers your acne and avoid those triggers although it may be largely due to hormonal changes.

Many Options: Avoid products with mineral oil, propylene glycol, petrolatum and even shea butter as these ingredients may clog pores and make acne worse. Skinceuticals, obagi, and cosmo grade may be great resources for you.
