Skin Cancer: Skin cancer is absolutely considered a real cancer and should not be ignored! however, there are many types of skin cancer that have different prognoses. Some of the less invasive types, such as basal cell carcinoma, are occasionaly referred to as "good" cancers. Although no cancer is good cancer, these types tend to spread less frequently and have excellent prognoses if treated properly.

News to Me!: Skin cancer is real cancer. In fact, the skin cancer melanoma is the tumor that gives cancer a bad name. Other types of skin cancer, basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma, have better prognoses, but remain real cancers.

It is certainly: A real cancer, and needs to be taken seriously and treated with respect. Perhaps some people think that because skin cancers are common and easily treated if they are caught at an early stage that "it's no big deal", but they are a real cancer, with real problems if left untreated.
