Meningitis: In short no, but if you have more symptoms the likelihood of you having meningitis increases. The most common symptoms are headache and neck stiffness associated with fever, confusion or altered consciousness, vomiting, and an inability to tolerate light and loud noises. Usually the diagnosis has to be confirmed by specific tests, in particular a lumbar puncture to sample the spinal fluid.
