A member asked:

I am exposed to broken crt glass everyday, could i be developing lead poisoning, could that cause chest pains?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: Crts do contain heavy lead glass and cadmium, the 2 main materials of risk. Lead causes toxicity only if ingested or inhaled. If you're in proximity to broken glass, you're not at risk unless you're exposed to glass that is pulverized or incinerated. Lead toxicity can lead to premature coronary disease & stroke. To determine your risk, have your doc get a blood lead level.
