It is recommended: It depends, if he/she was diagnosed with hepatitis b from a physician, we counsel and recommend all patients to have their family members and significant others checked for hep b. They also receive a call from the health department with further instructions. If he/she didn't know, then that is a different story. There are very good medicines to help control hep b.
