Vague symptoms: Weight loss, bloating, early satiety are vague symptoms and only later when profound weight loss, and back pain or jaundice occur does it come to attention.

Location of organ: The reason there are no obvious symptoms with pancreatic cancer is that it's location is mostly behind the abdominal cavity. A cancer can grow and grow without disrupting any bodily function for quite a while. Thus the cancer presents later when there is a "mass effect."
