A member asked:

What is medical negligence and how is it determined?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Many things: The true definition is medical negligence is failure to maintain the standard of care for a given region. In most cases it requires a less than optimum outcome. The reality is that negligence is whatever an attorney can convince a jury that whatever happened should not have happened. The whole medical malpractice arena is a combination of sadness and drama. Lawyers are the only ones profiting.
