Weight: We'd really like to know, because then pharmaceutical companies could produce a medication that would reduce the weight safely. Most of the time we work with diet & exercise to control the gain, or switch to a different antidepressant which might not put weight on.

Not well understood: 4.5% people treated with zoloft had a significant weight gain in one study. Weight gain is more likely if the person is taking zoloft for 6 months or longer. There are some people who experience increased carbohydrate craving on zoloft. However, mechanism for weight gain is not well understood.
