A member asked:

What can i do if my mother was diagnosed with dementia. how do i tell the difference between this and nhp?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Wet,wabbly, and wild: The changes in clinical presentation for nph are often considered in the context of the mnemonic-"wet, wobbly, and wild" this representes a triad of signs that are helpful but not diagnostic. Wet= incont. Of urine wobbly= gait changes(unsteadiness in ambulation) wild= personality and/or behavioral changes. This triad progresses at a variable rate and not all three are needed to have nph.
