Could take months: Ice it, wear a surgical shoe and can wrap the toe in coban, or coflex (brand names of self sticking type of wrap.).

Broken toe: Start with ice and surgical shoe or boot and wrap with coflex/coban . If the swelling persists the digit may need surgery to repair the fracture. Good luck !
