Food vs. suppl: Healthy whole foods are the best for you. Food based supplements are often useful but a less than perfect substitution for the healthy diet. Synthetic supplements can be controversial, in general our standard american diet (sad) is deficient in healthy nutrients, as well as minerals and contains substances that are unhealthy. Consider finding a functional medicine nutritionist to discuss choice.
