Depends...: This completely depends on what the nature of the pain might be. Pain in upper right side of back can be anything from muscle strain, rib issues, to liver or gallbladder issues. Its difficult to recommend any medications without being sure where the pain is coming from. This should be assessed by a physical exam and workup to rule out any internal issues. Hope this helps and best of luck!

Stretch and Exercise: At your age, i would suggest stretching out and working in strengthening your cores muscles. Take some anti-inflammatories around the clock for the next few days. If you do not improve after a few days, i would consider evaluation by your doctor for further testing and treatment options like epidural steroid injections.

Get mri of back: See an orthopedist- could be facet joint pain or simply muscle origin. Also get a uring sample to make sure this is not a kidney stone.

Radiculopathy: The common causes of bilateral upper back pain are musculoskeletal and referred nerve pain called radiculopathy from underlying vertebral or spine disease (e.g. osteoarthritis, compression fracture or nerve entrapment). Based on age and other risk factors it rarely could be a manifestation of underlying heart or lung disease. Talk to your PCP for a Neck- Thoracic spine X-ray and ECG.
