A member asked:

Why am i still having gallbladder pain after removal ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not unusual: To have typical gallbladder type of pain for 4 to 6 weeks after cholecystectomy, until your system gets accustomed to surgical absence of gallbladder. Your bile duct system needs to enlarge just a little to accommodate this absence. If it lasts more than a month or so after surgery, consult your surgeon who performed the operation.
