Extent of crack: A cracked tooth will be evaluated to see if it it is limited to only the crown, or if it extends vertically into the root of the tooth. They can sometimes be very tricky to detect and treat. Be sure to ask the dentist about all the options, if the extent of the crack is clear, and how confident they are about the recommended treatment if they want to save the tooth.
