My story: I was bit by a brown recluse over twenty years ago. It did not hurt when bit. But i went on to have fever, swelling of my arm, necrosis of tissue around the bite and i had musculo-skeletal pain all over. I basically felt like roadkill. My understanding is that some people don't have much of reaction to it.
