Sex and UTI's: Females have a higher incidence of uti's after sexual intercourse due to their urethra being shorter than a man's. This provides an easier pathway for the bacteria on the skin to get into the bladder. The best preventive measure is to urinate after sex to wash the bacteria into the toilet bowel. Unprotected anal sex can cause uti's in males. Also, change condoms after it before vaginal sex.
