Neither : Ovulation is the release of an egg from your ovary. It usually occurs 2 weeks before the onset of your period.

No: Your period is when you bleed. Your menstrual cycle is from one period to the next. And ovulation is when you release an egg from your ovary which usually occurs in the middle of your menstrual cycle.
