what are the ways that gallstones cause gas and bloating?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Mark Hoepfner
38 years experience General Surgery
Symptoms: Gallstones can irritate the lining of the gallbladder & can partially block the emptying of bile from the gallbladder after eating. The body translates that as a pressure or a full uncomfortable feeling. That can feel like a full, bloated, gassy feeling especially worse after larger meals or eating fatty greasy foods.

Gallstones possible.: That symptom complex you described could certainly be consistent with gallbladder pathology, including gallstones.
