A member asked:

What could i do to find out if i will get aspiration pneumonia from food that i choaked on?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Symptoms: Often aspirated food causes inflammation, but it only occasionally causes infections. If you have fevers, chills, sharp chest pain, or worsening cough then you may need further evaluation and perhaps antibiotics.
