Depends: That would depend on the severity of the infection, and possibly on microbe responsible for causing it.

But I would not recommend waiting to find out. If you do you may wind up as one of Dr. Chauhan,s chronic patients.

Varies: I would drink more fluids in the meantime to help flush out your kidneys. Stagnant water the enemy. Your kidney likes to have liquid to filter.
