Lamotrigine: "more effective" all depends on what you're comparng it to. Caveats/points of interest: - Lamotrigine both stabilizes/prophylaxes mania as well as helps raise the mood with an antidepressant like effect. - sometimes it is ineffective by itself for depression, and something else needs to be added. - potentially inadequate four mania/hypomania prophylaxis, particularly with vigorous anti-dep rx.
