Not exactly: Drinking water (hot or cold) may not help you burn more calories, but it avoids adding extra calories that have little nutritional value. By drinking water you allow your body to burn more of the calories you obtain from foods rather then having to "waste" the effort burning the calories obtained form soda, ice tea, or some other sweetened drink.
