Antitubercular drugs: When TB is diagnosed, it is often cultured in a laboratory. When the bacteria grow, the lab will then be able to test a number of different drugs (sensitivity testing) against the particular TB organism and determine which drugs will work best to stop the disease and kill off existing infection. Several drugs in combination over several months are sometimes needed to cure patients.
