Not long: Both Ibuprofen (advil) & Diphenhydramine (the pm part of advil) can lead to adverse side effects in elderly. This question is best answered by a physician who knows the patient. While many do take & tolerate diphenhydramine, it can cause anti-cholinergic side effects. Also, not recommended since can cause delirium, especially in setting of a new CPAP machine & do to drug-drug interaction.
