T2: Technique shows fluid or fluid containing tissues to be bright (or white) on mri. For example, the ventricles will be bright white on t2 as they contain cerebrospinal fluid.

MRI signal: There are different imaging "sequences" in mri. On "t2 weighted" sequences, fluid is bright.
