A member asked:

Evidence suggest that left ventricular end diastolic pressure/preload is normal(from doppler assessment of the mitral filling and annular velocities or e/e)" does above mean left ventricular diastolic function is normal? does above rule out lvh?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

That measurement indicates normal relaxation of the left ventricle with no diastolic dysfunction. This doesn't measure for left ventricular hypertrophy. There should be a conclusion at the end of an echocardiogram study. If the study showed diastolic dysfunction or LVH, these would be stated in the conclusion and the stage of diastolic dysfunction would be graded from 1 to 4.
