I take amphetamine stimulants and i must be treated for depression with elavil. how many days should i stop taking stimulants and then start taking elavil?

Stimulants like Concerta and Adderall have a synergistic drug interaction with Amitriptyline, a tricyclic anti-depressant. Either can increase the toxic side effects of Elavil which may cause serotonin syndrome. Additionally, Elavil May increase the cardiovascular side effects of the stimulant. The prescribing provider(s) should be made aware and adjust your medications to lower these risks
