The maximum safe dose of Ibuprofen is 800mg, with maximum total daily dose as 2400mg. Ibuprofen is an NSAID which is relatively safe. It can have acute common side effects of kidney injury and gastric ulcers. It would not cause respiratory or CNS effects to the degree described of not waking up. Best to monitor urinary output, GI bleeding, and abdominal pain
