Statin induced autoimmune myopathy by is a severe exceedingly rare entity. The myopathy seen in patients taking statins is usually not an autoimmune disorder. This side effect occurs after a month or so and causes mild muscle soreness, aches and/or weakness. A blood test, CPK is elevated. The autoimmune myopathy causes severe muscle aches& weakness of the upper arms& legs&there is a very high CPk
