Statins: At the present time we have no time limit to statin length of therapy. Some recent studies suggest there may be glucose intolerance associated with long term statin use but we don't know if this is significant. As long as no serious side effects in the individual patient, it appears they are long term safe. If significant side effects, we stop the agent.
