A member asked:

Is zoloft at all safe to take for my bad anxiety/stress and depression if i have: incomplete right bundle branch block. and trace pulmonic, trace mitral, and trivial tricuspid regurgitations?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

While older antidepressants had potential adverse effects on cardiac conduction and could cause dangerous cardiac arrhythmias, SSRIs like Zoloft have not been shown to be such a potential problem in patients with conduction disturbances like bundle branch block & won't aggravate valvular abnormalities. It is considered one of the go to antidepressants in patients with cardiac disease & depression.
