Diabetes mellitus is a risk factor for urinary tract infection but it is more common in females. Besides foul odor urine, frequency and burning voiding are more common in both genders. You should drink a lot of water in the next couple days (at least 30% more). If all symptoms of urinary tract infection occur then you need to be treated. High glucose in the urine does not change the urine smell.
