Halitosis can be caused by many things, including cavities, periodontal problems, acid reflux, sinus infections, and diet. Since you've had this problem for years, the question is have you seen your physician and dentist to be evaluated? If not, now is the time for consults. Please make the calls.

See your Dentist. Most common cause is sulfur producing bacteria between your teeth that are left undisturbed. Start flossing DAILY and see if that helps after about 2 weeks. Cause of white deposits on tongue may be physiologic rather than pathologic. May also be from tonsils, adenoids, sinuses, GERD, leukemia, diabetes, aromatic esters in foods, cavities, gum disease.
