You need to find out if the bright red spots represent blood or not. If it represents blood, that needs to be diagnosed as this could be anything from hemorrhoids to a bleeding ulcer, for example. A GI doctor would be able to diagnose the red spots by testing your stool for the presence of blood. If there is no blood, then it is likely due to something in your diet. But, have your stool tested.

Despite a negative CT scan, don't ignore persistent abdominal pain, especially if there's associated tenderness. Get examined in the ER if your discomfort persists
