I got a late period by 10 days, unusual for me to have a cycle of 40 days, now a week later my breast are swollen sore and i don't understand why, usually they get sore a week before period and that was the case before my period came, why sore again?

Do a urine pregnancy test is the first thing you should do if you are sexually active. If you are not sexually active then you can watch the breast symptom for now. Hormonal imbalance can cause similar symptoms as premenstrual syndrome. See a GYN doctor if irregular cycle persists with bothered symptom(s). Good luck.
