Can you have antibiotic associated diarrhea with fever (without it being c.diff)?

The primary cause of most diarrhea is viral which would never benefit from antibiotics & may worsen.

Yes, antibiotic associated diarrhea does not need to have a fever associated with it. Once the antibiotic ends, the diarrhea will dissipate. You can take a probiotic to help treat it and it is important to stay hydrated. Good luck to you!

Simple antibiotic diarrhea usually does not have an associated fever. I'm unsure whether your fever preceded the onset of diarrhea or not and what the indication for the prescribing of the antibiotics was for,but I believe the combination of diarrhea & ongoing fever, warrants a stool culture for enteric pathogens including C Diff.
